Born in 1977 and brought up on a farm in the Scottish Highlands, Catherine had an unconventional childhood, large chunks of it spent on a boat with her family completing trans-global voyages. She studied both in Paris and Italy, training initially in a very traditional classical atelier. She believes this gave her the basis of draughtsmanship on which to develop her own distinctive style. She worked as a portrait artist initially but soon returned to her preferred subject of animals. She has become recognised for her dynamic paintings of animals in movement, with bold use of colour and confident brushwork. Fluent in several languages, Catherine has had the opportunity to work on commissions worldwide. Prices from £450 for a charcoal and from £750 for an oil portrait of a horse. Dogs start at £350 for a pencil/charcoal and from £550 for a dog oil portrait. A trio sketch of a dog £450.
